    Let's try this...

    Since we helpers are the only ones who give a shit, and the rank on the Leaderboard only matters to the individual, why not just "adjust the Leaderboard in your mind" to suit what you believe to be true - whether it in fact is true or not?

    I can easily ignore everyone above me - except for the one RIGHT ABOVE me - I just wanna PASS SOMEBODY when I'm racing ;-)

    problem with "5 minutes or so" is that is robs the OP of the "joy" of marking the CORRECT themselves. The target audience of NTPS is NOT we detectives (Imy adBlock stuff kills everthing except those occasional fuckups of adNetworkGuy invoking popOVER/UNDERs)

    5 was taken from a VERY active forum in which I am participant.
    Howzabout some "lesser fixed amount" for the automatic award (however many it takes)? Take away the incentive and solve the problem?
    A determined cheater (or criminal of any kind) can defeat any safeguard.
    A cop once said to me, "Locks only keep honest people out."

    IMHO, only the OP should be able to award the "full tally" of CORRECT + bonus-for-Following

    At bottom, we "gamers" (I actually don't give much of a shit... its just a game!) are not the target audience. So spending time (money) making us happy over this "isolated issue" is not a good business decision.

    OK.

    I have been enlightened this morning as to "Why This 'CONFIRM' BullShit Matters"

    I now know that with TWO (2) confirmations, at least SOME threads get marked CORRECT automatically by that tally.

    I KNOW I have seen threads with MORE than ONE UserName in the confirmation list on a singel answer in the past.
    I will endeavor to find current examples - BUT - there is some SETTING in the forum management console that is the number of confirms that is required - I AM POSITIVE

    The NUMBER required is TOO LOW = 2 = FIVE (5) would likely put an end to this debate - as it then LIKELY would become TOO MUCH TROUBLE for a single person to have FIVE personas (really would require SIX, including the main one)

    To all:
    SupportGuy, if he is so inclined, can get to the bottom of multiple UserNames.

    Like every website, NTPS has server logs that have a visitor's IP address. Unique identifier for "computer" and could easily find a "close relative" IP address for another computer in the same location.

    This would not take Sherlockian skills to figure out.

    Again, at bottom, SG likely will not give a shit since HIS best interests are "returning eyeballs" to make ad $$. Any solution serves to keep requestORs coming back for more.

    Banning someone for "gaming the system" (that has only 'warm fuzzies' as a reward) does not make economic sense.

    Wow! Too much work for me to confirm almost ANY answer, no matter who it is! Time is $$ !!
    Too little reward from me anyway.
    There are a few folks here that are as close to running buddies as this format allows - you are one.
    There are folks in every social situation or workplace that are fond of pooping in the punchbowl, and folks that have "irrational expectations" about how things "should be run" - but we ADULTS in an ADULT ENTERTAINMENT forum should act accordingly.
    Points or no points - there is no "tangible" reward... so as any reasonable adult would conclude - WTF does it MATTER?

    At bottom, SupportGuy (who gets an email whenever one uses the Feedback button OR the Contact Support link on this page) is the sole arbiter of what happens ON HIS PROPERTY. A business is NOT a democracy by any stretch of the imagination. It's not "everyone's party, so you CAN'T cry if you want to."

    I, for one, have said my peace on the subject

    NOW, folks, pitch a bitch about something that REALLY matters... The popOVER/UNDERs that sometimes are RANSOMWARE pages that the "ad network guy" has invoked on at least two occasions, most recently yesterday - pissing SupportGuy off to no end

    I'll tell ya what we all should do...
    Answer requests to the best of our ability, making citations (or calling "eyeball" - JT may well have WORKED with some of these folks!) and just get on with it.

    It is not like there is some CASH PRIZE involved so "Who gives a shit?"

    To review the main point...
    The PREMISE that gaming the system a POINT at a TIME is a way to WIN some contest that has NO PRIZE is BATSHIT CRAZY!

    I personally would like to HIDE *some* of my Requests on my own page - but I see that if someone was looking at my stuff, they would want a full list.

    Maybe an *archiving* function? Just another TAB in addition to [Requests] & [Following] ??

    I would want the default to be just the ones that have current activity by my choice or by added comments .

    all nunzio has said makes sense to me... however, the title of this thread AND the OP does not apply to deleting or hiding a User's Identity, but merely allowing the fixing of a mistakenly posted image.

    I assume that Oliver means (something like) posting a link to an imgur PAGE rather than an imgur image file OR posting an image of his dog or somesuch.

    I understand that author deleting or changing and image after some (short) period of time creates an issue of confusion (at the very least)

    I would prefer a "Lounge" with membership and sliding scale privileges based on points count - [#] = Level priviledges. Top Points earners could be automatic MVP Admin level for moderator rights (all seem level headed, competent folks) = everything ([1]PMs, [2]report, [3]edit, [4]move, [5]remove and [6]banning trolls) = with SupportGuy as KING of all the nobles and design master.

    passerby, I have seen a couple that are close enough to delete just to be safe. I am reluctant to even get my alias involved in such stuff... just copying a URL implies that I have viewed child porn, an admission of guilt if image is proven to be such.

    A solution might be a "Panic Button" to report suspect post that could be quarantined until sorted out.

    Proper authority would be appreciative and possibly view a report as good deed for the day, instead of applying added scrutiny for inaction

    just some thoughts

    My "Requests+Following"(only) "Load More" link is broken on my profile page in Firefox ONLY (Safari OK)

    Just churns away - no freeze just won't load more

    I can't get any ReverseGoogleImage add-on to work in MY Firefox

    always just takes me to regular "Image Search" main page

    I would definitely like to bring the power of Google to bear, but alas...

    One MIGHT need to be a Google+ subscriber

    PRIORITY - IMO

    This is THE PLACE all the MAGIC HAPPENS concerning multiple posts of same image, time to reflect and inspect, allow cancellation, you name it

    Already have image URL - RevSearch it - poster goes "wow Question answered 22 times!! I'm Done!" - Cancel

    This "Question answered nn Times" could be a link that persists with the post so everyone can see 'em all.

    PREVIEW would be the Palace of the Great and Powerful OZ

    This goes along with the idea of a preview step before posting.

    At this point, NTPS knows the image. NTPS has a reverse image finder. Simply do the reverse search before the preview and display any results before the postings get to the redundant stage.

    PRIORITY ?? = ReverseSearch during posting process - I have a Workflow in mind - kinda long to explain but simple to USE

    If CORRECT, I agree.

    Veterans only = some total points accrued
    Elapsed time before can do it (longer it languishes, more points accrue ;-)

    New info:

    Not just .PNG files!

    I just uploaded one linked to imgur. looks fine. closeby on the main page was a black image

    Chose it. Request #196968 page image was black.

    left click image. image DISPLAYS in the zoom window and lo n behold its a GIFanim.

    ORIGINAL URL button displays gif with 'linked' URL

    There *16* black images displaying on the main page. At least one of 'em has a solution

    It seems to be something to do with how NTPS is 'handling' the image for the different purposes.

    I agree. Often I have wished I could communicate with other users (mainly Power Users).

    You could even restrict BB use to those who have a certain number of cummulative points.

    Blogs are the hot thing, but are a bit unwieldy I think. Bulletin Boards are much better option.

    I used VBulletin for years as a community solution for a software company. Costs $$ though.

    You could look into free BBs that maybe aren't quite so robust. A starting place for free-ones might be :
