Enable us to delete our own images.
It would be nice if we could delete our mistakenly posted images.

I personally would like to HIDE *some* of my Requests on my own page - but I see that if someone was looking at my stuff, they would want a full list.
Maybe an *archiving* function? Just another TAB in addition to [Requests] & [Following] ??
I would want the default to be just the ones that have current activity by my choice or by added comments .

all nunzio has said makes sense to me... however, the title of this thread AND the OP does not apply to deleting or hiding a User's Identity, but merely allowing the fixing of a mistakenly posted image.
I assume that Oliver means (something like) posting a link to an imgur PAGE rather than an imgur image file OR posting an image of his dog or somesuch.
I understand that author deleting or changing and image after some (short) period of time creates an issue of confusion (at the very least)

I just looked through a bunch of the other feedback topics and I see that people are already requesting complete account deletions (some for reasons to do with identity tracing protection and some for other undisclosed reasons... probably in some cases having to do with reasons along the lines of the somewhat sarcastic example used in my first post below).
Whatever the reasons may be, there should be safeguards against the deletion of the actual content uploaded.
If people are worried about their screen names being tied to the content then that could be solved with a simple anonymizing auto-adjustment to their account/ screen name (turning all instances of their screen name's use on the site to "Guestxxxx" or something like that).
The deletion of a person's profile page should be just that - deleting the hub only and making it so no one can access it any longer. After changing a person's screen name to something anonymous and deletion of the login info tied to the old/ original screen name - that should be all that an account deletion entails .
The actual uploads associated with the original account name (and the now anonymous screen name) should remain under all but the most extraordinary of situations.

I agree with this with the caveat that the process of deletion must be voted upon with confirmations by others (just like how it works with answers already) and/or approved by moderators before it is accepted for deletion.
That way people who have a sudden change of heart for whatever reason (such as "I just found Jesus, so I must now delete all traces of my filthy past starting with my NTPS upload requests..." or something along those lines) won't be able to just clear the website of a bunch of helpful posts/ info for no good reason.
The deletion process should be available only for reasons related to double posting/ redundancy and/ or failed thumbnail appearance uploads or uploads of extremely poor view quality, etc.
In each case the deletion process should work by allowing the uploader to mark their upload for deletion via an added "Please delete this request " tab (this could be further clarified for uploaders in the same box as the "As the thread creator, you can thank those that helped you by..." info is now found).
In order to have the request for deletion accepted (so, a request to delete the request post, basically) an uploader should have to check off the reason for deletion from a list of acceptable reasons, and in each case they should then be required to provide a link to an existing solved request post that they found their upload was identical to and/or a link to their own re-upload of the same content with a now working or better thumbnail picture view of it.
Once a request post is marked by the uploader for deletion a message should show up for everyone else to see that provides everyone with the info that the upload has been marked for a request to delete it and the reason why the uploader wants it deleted along with the links supporting why we should vote in favor of the deletion.
