Confirmation system is being abused
It's possible to confirm one's own answers via sock puppets.
Both jackal22 and myself have done this in the previous month in a race to get the most points.
This month semtex started doing too.
Both jackal22 and semtex are very good solvers, so even though they are confirming their own answers, they include proof in their posts, and they are almost certainly correct answers.
Now Julia Taylor started confirming her own answers as well, but she's not as careful, and is confirming merely guesses as well, like http://namethatpornstar.com/thread.php?id=403984 for example.
I think that, ultimately, self-confirmation needs to be prevented or everybody will start doing in a race for the top spot on the monthly leaderboard. It's already impossible to get the top spot without doing it, soon everybody on the leaderboard will be somebody who confirms their own answers. Then the site will lose a lot of its usefulness because it will have too many wrong answers.
On the other hand, it's extremely frustrating for solvers when questioners don't mark answers correct. I've confirmed my own answers via sock puppets too, my hands aren't clean. So it would be bad if the confirmation system disappeared completely as well.
I have several ideas for how it can be restricted:
Confirms should be logged for new threads, but the confirmed answer only gets marked correct once the thread turns a month old.
Confirms should only count from users who have earned a certain number of lifetime points. Maybe 500? Maybe 100?
The amount of total confirms per day for a user should be restricted. Maybe 25 confirms per day?
I know that you're probably already overworked, and don't need any extra tasks. But self-confirming is sort of subverting how the site is supposed to work, while on the other hand, I feel very tempted to start confirming all of my own answers again, because I really want that top spot on the leaderboard, and it's impossible to get it without doing it.

To all:
SupportGuy, if he is so inclined, can get to the bottom of multiple UserNames.Like every website, NTPS has server logs that have a visitor's IP address. Unique identifier for "computer" and could easily find a "close relative" IP address for another computer in the same location.
This would not take Sherlockian skills to figure out.
Again, at bottom, SG likely will not give a shit since HIS best interests are "returning eyeballs" to make ad $$. Any solution serves to keep requestORs coming back for more.
Banning someone for "gaming the system" (that has only 'warm fuzzies' as a reward) does not make economic sense.

jackal...
"Hopalong Cassidy"? Are a guessing? I am positive that pornName finder skills apply to even the tiny avatar image.
.......... Hopalong Cassidy ...... [heavy sigh] -

Yes I am D.B. and your avatar is Hopalong Cassidy? Good luck with JT.

And last but not least (by a LONG SHOT) - Julia,
you have been "working out" I understand. ;-)
I have a idea for a flick that we need to have a "meeting" about ;-)
It stars you, of course, as the "Iron Lady" of Hungarian swimmers - Katinka Hosszú - I will play her(your) husband Shane Tusup. I will need MUCH time in the gym to look the part. We will require MANY hours of rehearsal for the sex scenes of course (I am a little rusty) -

Jackal - I'll apologize and have done so to you. But not to Semtex. He's made comments about 9/11 - that he's deleted since - which in my mind will always leave him suspect.

Jackal - one last comment from me. Yes you are right. I I shouldn't have said or implied that you have one account to post a question and a second to confirm it. I acknowledge that is just wrong and I apologize for that.
However, whether you agree with me or not, my opinion is that we shouldn't confirm our own answers. I just think it's a slippery slope. I'll happily confirm your answers as I hope you will mine.

CCC - you're right. Suspicion doesn't equal proof. I defer to your perspective. I've said my piece on this subject as well. I'll keep my thoughts on Semtex and Jackal to myself. As for JT, I'll defer to your opinion and withdraw any accusation and offer my apology.
Yes - it really sucks when people don't confirm your findings, but I think it's up to regular visitors like us to confirm each other's answers, NOT for us to create a secondary account to confirm our own. Im sure I have hundreds of correct answers out there that haven't been confirmed, and that sucks, but I'm sure as people come across those postings, they'll confirm it. Actually, it's pretty cool to get a "confirmed answer" weeks or months after I posted it. When I see your posts unanswered I mark Confirm as I would for anyone else. All I ask is that everyone else does the same for others. Creating a second account to confirm your own is just dubious.
I know jackal and semtex post "proof" with every post, but it just causes a shadow of doubt against any of their responses. They maybe upstanding guys who are great finders, but confirming their answers isn't the answer.
I like the site because it's a fun challenge to find something that others haven't. I'm sure that's the draw for many people. I'm not looking to be on the top of the leaderboard, although I'm sure that's cool, so being able to know the competition is clean is important.
CCC- you have actually given me great tips on finding, so I know you are without reproach. I appreciate your perspective and agree with your suggestions.

jackal22 (I am right it is anonymously you?)
Wow! Too much work for me to confirm almost ANY answer, no matter who it is! Time is $$ !!
Too little reward from me anyway.
There are a few folks here that are as close to running buddies as this format allows - you are one.
There are folks in every social situation or workplace that are fond of pooping in the punchbowl, and folks that have "irrational expectations" about how things "should be run" - but we ADULTS in an ADULT ENTERTAINMENT forum should act accordingly.
Points or no points - there is no "tangible" reward... so as any reasonable adult would conclude - WTF does it MATTER?At bottom, SupportGuy (who gets an email whenever one uses the Feedback button OR the Contact Support link on this page) is the sole arbiter of what happens ON HIS PROPERTY. A business is NOT a democracy by any stretch of the imagination. It's not "everyone's party, so you CAN'T cry if you want to."
I, for one, have said my peace on the subject
NOW, folks, pitch a bitch about something that REALLY matters... The popOVER/UNDERs that sometimes are RANSOMWARE pages that the "ad network guy" has invoked on at least two occasions, most recently yesterday - pissing SupportGuy off to no end
- RANSOMWARE is is DANGEROUS and popOVER/UNDER/newTABs are merely annoying as HELL!

Lemme work through this balderdash issue a point at a time - ADULTS gaming the system?
bubba37:
What EVIDENCE do you have that ANYONE is logging in as some other User to mark their answers confirmed for a MEASLY ONE POINT?
That seems to be counterproductive to a "race to the top" of the Leaderboard
I could understand Posting an image for solution as the alter-ego, then answering as jackal22, Julia Taylor OR yourself - then marking CORRECT as the alter ego to get the big points.
This "confirmed" dealio makes little sense. NO - it's batshit crazy!Anonymouse(my speeling) below is clearly jackal22 since he signed a couple:
Are you admitting to doing this - by NOT flat out denying it it appears that way.
If you are conceding the "crown", then gaming the system in ANY way seems ludicrous. A race to be "first loser"? Again, are we not ADULTS in an ADULT FORUM? Who the fuck CARES?Julia Taylor (or JT as I call her - howdy JT!):
From what I know about you you clearly do not care a whit about the points system, so any accusation would need to be proved to me like a "crime" in the US = beyond reasonable doubt... and I may be hard to convince (my admitted bias above)Zed:
1st of all, thanks for the heads up about this brouhaha
It appears that you too are making allegations of spoofing that you cannot support. Suspicion is far from ANY level of proof, much less a basis for saying JT and semtex are one in the same
What's wrong with that theory anyway? WHY would one person literally COMPETE with themselves" - semtex and JT were BOTH on the top 10 list not long ago = makes ZERO senseI'll tell ya what we all should do...
Answer requests to the best of our ability, making citations (or calling "eyeball" - JT may well have WORKED with some of these folks!) and just get on with it.It is not like there is some CASH PRIZE involved so "Who gives a shit?"
To review the main point...
The PREMISE that gaming the system a POINT at a TIME is a way to WIN some contest that has NO PRIZE is BATSHIT CRAZY! -

I don't see bubba as a fraud for confirming his own correct answers posted by others. He does provide proof of his answers, I too have confirmed my correct answers with proof posted by others as well since most do not show any gratitude whatsoever for our efforts. I have a better suggestion....NO POINTS FOR ANYONE, that's right do away with the point system, just solve the thread. I have confirmed for just about everyone at one time or another, many of your threads would have never been confirmed if I had not confirmed them. Jed or Zed or whoever you are you need a life and a brain. BTW I have solved for butch94, passerby, Dave, avril911,ChitlinsConCarne, MrProhozhij, maxnutter, Guampiro69 and even bubba, to name a few so I must be all to those people too. Oh and Zed I confirmed yours too so now I am you. I am everyone!

What a coincidence that Jackal and Julia Taylor both responded to this so quickly after they were exposed. Jackal - what's the point of feigning that you want your account deleted, when you could easily just not logon anymore? You make it seem like the administrator forces you to log on and post.
Also - saying that you verified Semtex and Julia's responses means jack, since it's clear you all are the same person.
Ive got an idea - why don't you all support bubba's suggestion to cap the number of verifies each day? I do!

Bubba, if you have the time, could you confirm some answers for me. I think I belong in the top 10. Tenth place is enough for me.

And one more thing, I just read the part about how important it is for you to be top of the leaderboard....Administrator please make him the top of the leaderboard for all of eternity. I asked the administrator to delete my account many times to no avail.....Delete me and make bubba the king please!

Julia Taylor and Semtex did not confirm their own answers, I did it for them. About a year ago I had about a 200,000 point lead on you and within a week was down by 100,000 points so no your hands are far from clean. You are the king of find pornstars and likely always will be so why are you complaining...
