Criticism of the rewarding system
I just encountered a correct answer (#739864) that was waiting there for over 7 months for someone to notice it. This is an absurd! It means that chance, or good will, are the main factors of the rewarding system (i.e. the points one get for his efforts). With all due respect, this MUST be changed.

Along with what Glenn said, there should also be a way to make a thread answered if certain number of users confirm it, say 5.

Everything Glenn said is wonderful. Similar to the topic, I've witness many people flag an answer as correct when it isn't. I think it might have even happened on one of my own requests, don't recall. I've also accidentally clicked thumbs up instead of verify, and vice versa, a time or two. Don't know if that's been changed, but when I did, I couldn't retract/edit my selection. There should definitely be more control for a user to edit/delete things that they do, and flag stupid/bad things other people do.

I think there have been several good suggestions.
Get rid of Guest posting.
Add some way to acknowledge an answer for a request you've made, when that answer is incorrect or insufficient. ie. force posters to respond in some way to answers made on their posts.
Don't allow posters to add requests when they have outstanding answers to which they have not responded.
Email alerts for posters when a comment is made, and for commenters when their posts are acknowledged.
More active use of ip addresses (ok, far from infallible) to prevent multiple accounts.
Reporting system for users to flag questionable posters.

Got any suggestions? =/ I've thought of different ways for the new version but nothing seems better than the current system.
